Synopsis:

As we blindly plunged our lives into digital technologies, it became  more and more apparent that there would never be 100% digital security. Every human on Earth became digitally exposed, as if naked in the streets.Entertainers, creators, and the corporate conglomerates disappeared as did the people whose livelihood became more easily and freely available online. Personal identity theft surpassed all other forms of crime combined.

Governments of the world found their secrets being stripped away and ending up in the hands of the public and their enemies, creating a global social breakdown that was completely out of control as the technology itself.

Tom Talbot, a police detective, was embittered by the glamour of science and technology being all things for all people. The technology was elusive to him, requiring a skill set he didn't have or wish to learn. If it couldn’t save his true love then why bother. Unbeknownst to him, this lack of skill would be more valuable than he ever imagined.

Rick Ashton saved the modern digital world by inventing perfect digital encryption. His company offered a new encryption called Guardian with a 100% guarantee, although no one could decipher the technology to prove him wrong. As with all other things digital, the world embraced Guardian and Rick Ashton became the world’s richest, most celebrated, and most powerful man. The media called him the "Digital Messiah".

Governments and companies regained their own control. The entertainment industry blossomed as creator royalties were an all time high, and people were safe from digital exposure to thieves, stalkers and all forms of malware. Everyone was safe while in the hands of Rick Ashton, who now protected the world's entire digital infrastructure. 

In a society driven by technology, Guardian protects the world, and Rick Ashton controls Guardian.
